
Standing proudly for more than 650 years over the beautiful Cuckmere Valley in the South Downs National Park, it’s no surprise the magnificent St Andrew’s Church Alfriston is often called “The Cathedral of the South Downs”. This impressive Grade 1 listed flint building sits at the heart of our community welcoming locals and visitors as a place of worship and venue for cultural and social events.




The Friends of St Andrew’s Church is being relaunched as an independent registered charity (no. 1199268) to encourage everyone who appreciates this building and its place in their lives to support projects to preserve and enhance this unique treasure for current and future generations.
